2224 Days since retiring July 1, 2005!

"Do not stare into the eyes of your opponent: he may mesmerize you. Do not fix your gaze on his sword: he may intimidate you. Do not focus on your opponent at all: he may absorb your energy. The essence of training is to bring your opponent completely into your sphere. Then you can stand where you like."
from Art of Peace

The creature stirs, he arises, He lives. Let us listen.

Late his afternoon I realized I have not written an entry for over a week. I am sure the old guy in the secret basement in Washington D.C. who is charged with keeping me hovering near poverty has been worried. After-all he will be out of work if I die.

I aint dead but I am hiding from the heat. By 9 am it is so hot outside that I cannot get a deep breath. I refuse to run the air conditioner in my room so my cave is just tolerable. So I stay awake until 4 or 6 am then sleep until noon or later.

I watched a new episode of “Roseanne’s Nut’s on TV. Years ago she was a foul mouthed liberal. Now she is an old foul-mouthed hippie living in Hawaii. I watched from simple curiosity. Fifteen minutes cured me. She is a member of a class of people that I would like to see consumed in a torrent of hell-fire. She claimed she was going to celebrate Passover but without anything like the Seder. She has such a high opinion of her own opinion that she is incapable of learning.

I am going to have blood tests tomorrow as further exploration of the cause of my kidney failure. And I need to call my doctor to get a new prescription for Lasik. I better do it early

07/28: Dear Lord, help us to pray without ceasing and to keep our minds focused on you. Amen.
07/29: Dear Lord, teach us to cling to you as a child holds fast to its parent and to not let go. Amen.

7/31: Heavenly Father, thank you for simple prayers and for the peace you give when we are afraid of the storm. We pray as Jesus taught us, saying, "Father, hallowed be your name, your kingdom come. Give us each day our daily bread. Forgive us our sins, for we also forgive everyone who sins against us. And lead us not into temptation."* Amen.
8/1: Creator God, teach us to enjoy the journey as much as reaching the destination. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
8/2: Loving God, help us to be instruments of your love to those who live around us. In Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
8/3: Dear God, help us to carry out your word faithfully, for the benefit of those you love. Amen.

I am much indebted to the 4 people who sent me this recipe. None claimed actually making it. I include this recipe as an attempt to convince myself that yogurt is edible. After years of trying yogurt still makes me uneasy.
