2481 Days since retiring July 1, 2005!

"Sometimes, what you get free costs entirely too much."

Read on and fall sound asleep

Well looky here! You see a worried man. All my adult life I have lived with the firm belief that my parents had been married at least 6 months before Mom conceived me. Now, as “pay-back” for the good deed of helping index the 1940 Federal Census, I have learned that my Father was reported as single on April 22, 1940. That is just 71 days before my possible conception date. On April 8, 1940 Mom was a border with Frank and Olive Worrell of Cement Oklahoma. They had a 1 year old daughter so I expect mom was taking care of the kid. Dad was living at home with his parents outside Cement and working as a roustabout for Ohio Oil Company (later to become Marathon). So what really happened between April 22, 1940 and July 2, 1940? I don’t know or cannot remember the purported date of their anniversary. Am I truly a bastard or am I just called that by my acquaintances? Do I really care? NO! I had the most loving and most nearly perfect parents the world ever knew. They raised 4 well adjusted, industrious, stable children who have continued to make the world slightly better because of the presence of Marion and Charlene Robertson.

Ever since the total destruction of the conservative wing of the Texas Democratic Party by the bleeding heart do-gooder liberals from the National organization I have pretty much operated under the Republican party banner. But now the National Republican organization has pushed or dragged the GOP into extreme and destructive right wing so called conservatism. Now I am neither Democrat nor Republican. That makes me feel something like Barbie’s Ken must feel. All over pretty but without the tool to do anything. Well! After that long scree my point is that both parties appointed show toys must think the voters are stupid. Sadly the voters every election DO demonstrate their stupidity. David Dewhurst is a long time professional politician who is currently Lieutenant Governor of the state of Texas. That office is similar in function to the hair growing around a person’s anus. We all know it is there and we assume it has a function but we just don’t know what that function is. He is very rich but made his money shuffling paper in an energy and investments company. In other words, he was part of the upper class redistribution of wealth scheme.

In a new TV commercial spot called "Courage," David Dewhurst said, "My dad flew a bomber on D-Day. The greatest generation built the greatest nation on Earth. The next generation spent us into bankruptcy."

Now, let's get this straight. Dewhurst says the generation that succeeded his father's generation is to blame for the nation's fiscal woes. But since he is his father's son, isn't he that very same next generation? Click on what was DEWHURST and ponder for just a moment what the message really says. Are we dumb enough to miss the truth and just think “gosh he is handsome!” and vote for the SOB. I truthfully don’t know because I can find not certifiable facts about his major opponent.

A traveling salesman trying to make a buck was driving through the plains of Nebraska when he decided to stop at a farmhouse coming up on his left.

As he was walking up the driveway toward the front door of the house, a pig with three legs caught his eye. It was just hobbling through the grass.

When the farmer answered the door and asked what he was selling, the salesman first asked about the three legged pig.

"That pig is the most amazing pig in the land, son." The farmer said.

"Last year, our house caught fire when we were all asleep and that pig ran in and woke us all up one by one and saved our lives!"

The salesman was surprised. "That is one special pig" He said.

The Farmer replied, "That's not all. Last summer, that pig jumped into the pond and dragged my drowning son to safety. He would have died."

The salesman was in disbelief as to how incredible this pig was. "One question. Why does he have 3 legs, is it from the fire?" He asked.

"No son, ya see, a pig like that you just don't eat all at one time."

On that note let me present a VIDEO that further illustrates human gullibility. I think the video is Italian but the language is not important or even necessary.

Darlene from far away Iowa in tornado alley posted this recipe in my beloved webtv grannie group. Thank you Darlene!

  1. That will happen in a first-past-the-post two party system. Politics and government, however, can never solve our human problems. Don't get to caught up in it.
